Another area filled in!

Another area filled in!

As my garden grew with more & more plant additions, I began losing track of what plants I had & where I had planted them.  I discovered I had purchased the same plant multiple times on different shopping expeditions!  I realized I needed to either make a shopping list and stick to it, or make a list of plants I already had and take it with me so I wouldn’t continue to spend money on the same things!  I chose the latter as I knew I’d stray from a strict shopping list!  I also developed a ‘wish list’ to take with me, based on perusing catalogs, what others had in their gardens and plants I saw at shows.

This page is a record for me to remember and share what I’ve purchased.  It is not yet complete and some plants will have to be crossed off as I’ve lost them.  Over time I hope to add information about each plant such as cultivation, propagation, etc.  That may be a winter project.

I’ve started building separate pages with photos to organize perennials, trees, shrubs, bulbs, and grasses.  Another good winter project!

  1. MacGardens Says:

Ok, you can stop by and do a plant list for me too. I can’t believe the amount of work that went into that. It’s not like you can scan them with barcode reader. I’ve seen that done at Chanticleer in Philadelphia but not in many other places. Nicely done!

  2. My goal is to go back through & organize, but as you can see I’ve done nothing about that yet!

  3. teza Says:

OMG- and then add a Sweet Jesus or two or three! That is a most prolific and enviable list! The eye was mesmerized when it fell upom Paeonia mlokosewitschii (Molly the Witch!) – this is wonderful and now I know I am not the only one who insists upon keeping a similar record.

  4. Thanks Teza, I am a collector! I’ve been lacking in filling in the list, but hope to get to it this winter. My friend, Angela, at Parkdale Gardens Design Service has been a great source for many of the plants you probably like (Molly), as well a few acquired at The Collector’s in WA.

  5. Katey Says:

Great job on THE LIST – inspiring! Hope you get more snow for the blue chairs – – –
Last winter, I did make a snow-guy sitting on my bench – he lasted for 3 days (not bad for a guy! – ha ha)
Glad to see your glass work, and look forward to seeing the RED show this Friday.

  6. Thanks Katey, I look forward to seeing YOU!!!

  7. Heidi Kaster Says:

Hi there, I was looking at plants on the web and your blog came up. I love glass in the garden and your place looks great. If you are ever up here please stop in. I would also like to be added one your list of nurseries. I love to get fellow collectors in.
Lets hope we have a mild winter. Heidi and Dragonfly

  8. Thanks Heidi, your nursery looks just like my cup of tea, of course I’ll add it!
