In other news……(sorry my gardening friends, it’s all about work this time of year for me!)

Opening the First Friday in November, I’m producing work in my other kiln for…..

snowshow_emailversion

… a gallery show titled ‘Snow’ at Columbia Center for the Arts.  It opens the First Friday in November with a reception from 6 until 8pm and runs through the end of the month.  I’ve created a series of ‘Snow’ Bowls in my ‘Celestial Series’ tradition and will offer my iridescent art glass snowflakes.

Between those two events I’m delivering work to the NEW Holiday Pop-Up Shop in Hood River at 301 Oak, formerly Gallery 301!  “Locally handmade gifts for everyone on your shopping list.”  It is open Fridays and weekends November – December and open every day the week before Christmas from 10am until 6pm.

There’s more in November, but for now I am dashing madly toward my studio!  Hope you’re all having a wonderful fall.  You can see many photographs I’ve taken between my last post and this one on my Facebook Page, Steider Studios.  Mostly of wildlife along the Columbia, at Conboy & Ridgefield Wildlife Refuges, Lyle area and more….

Steider Studios: Studio Sale 2014

Thanks so much to everyone who drove out to the Columbia River Gorge & to the top of Burdoin Mtn to see my studio & purchase my work!  You make it all worthwhile!!  I’m open by appointment and you can see my work in my ArtFire & Zibbet shops.  Now for some R & R in my garden!

Steider Studios Annual Studio Sale 2014

My annual studio sale is coming up on April 11, 12 & 13 in the hills above White Salmon Washington.  I’ll open my studio for three fun-filled days along with 40 other artists juried into the Gorge Artists Open Studios.  It’s the only time ALL my work is unpacked and displayed in one setting.  Enjoy a stroll through my garden on your way down to see my photography and art glass in my little cabin.

I just ordered new metal prints and all occasion greeting cards from my nature & landscape photographs.  My kiln has been reloaded with MORE art glass garden art.  Last night I finished cold-working new earrings and bracelets.  I have a feeling I’ll be finishing them between guests as there’s still so much preparation left to do!

You can find maps of the tour at Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce or download a pdf from our website, http://gorgeartists.org  onto your iPad or similar device.

If you’re in ~ or will be in ~ the Pacific Northwest, I’m happy to send you directions, just send me a message.

Until then, I’ll be scouring out my studio & unpacking all my work to show you!

Columbia Gorge Art Festival in Corbett Oregon

My last show of the season is this weekend in Corbett Oregon at the Corbett Grade School.  I’ll have glass garden art and jewelry; plus botanical, scenic and nature photography to share with you.

A glorious scenic drive takes you to the western part of the Columbia River Gorge.  Take the Corbett exit off I84, come up the hill & turn right on Historic Columbia River Hwy.  The grade school is just down the highway at 35800 E. Historic Columbia River Hwy.  Hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

A fundraiser for Corbett Education Foundation, this is one of the best spring shows I participate in.  Festive, friendly and fun you won’t find more creativity and wonderful artists anywhere else.  The entire school is filled with amazing art and handmade fine craft with attention to detail.  I always find treasures at this show for gift giving and additions to my personal collection.

Not to mention a free lunch!  Donations accepted for a fantastic grilled cheeseburger with sautéed onions and mushrooms.  I can’t wait & hope to see you there!!  Let me know you follow my blog!

Steider Studios is having a Studio Sale 2013

My annual studio sale is less than 3 weeks away.   Kilnformed art glass (including garden art!) and Nature Photography will be displayed throughout my little cabin in the woods.

The invitations went out yesterday.  To be sure all my glass looks its sparkly best I scour out my cabin, clear the winter cobwebs and even wash windows to let warm sunlight wash over each piece.  I’ve been clearing out my garden so you’ll have a lovely walk down to my cabin.  If only my little spring flowers will hurry up and bloom so you’ll see color on all my paths.

If you plan to join me on April 12, 13, 14 and need directions, send me an email – linda at steider studios dot com.

I have a limited number of complimentary maps that will lead you to all the other artists on the Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour.  If you’d like one reserved please let me know right away.

Steider Studios: Installation Preview for Solo Show at The Nook

In addition to the flurry of preparations I’m still in my studio producing more!  Ladybugs are flying out the door from my solo show at ‘The Nook’, as well as buggettes and wall pocket vases.  I’ve replaced my work several times, because it goes home as its purchased.

This is the last week to see my show at The Nook as well as the Preview Show for all the artists participating in the Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour.  Columbia Center for the Arts is at 215 Cascade in Hood River.

Hope to see you here for my studio sale on April 12, 13 and 14.

April will be a killer month with an event each weekend, beginning with the Glass Craft & Bead Expo in Las Vegas.  My open studio sale is the second weekend, followed by ‘Artists of the Gorge’, a weekend art show at Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River!  The last weekend in April is the largest show of my year, ‘Glass Gallery’ in Portland at the Convention Center.  The Gathering of the Guilds is the largest event of its kind on the West Coast and is always a must see.  If at all possible, plan to spend a couple of days perusing all the fabulous art at this show.  There is so much to see, so many artists and media that you’ll want to take home one of everything!

My Dance Card overflows with holiday shows this year.  Last weekend I was at the Soroptimists of Mt. Adams Shopping Extravaganza in Hood River.  Next weekend is two shows in two days.  You’ll find me at Mid Columbia Medical Center’s Holiday Show in The Dalles Oregon on Friday, November 30th from 10am until 4pm.  Held in the Medical Office Building behind the hospital, you’ll find something for everyone.

Then Saturday, December 1st I’ll be showing my work along the base of Mt. Adams at the Trout Lake Holiday Show.  We’ll be inside the Trout Lake School multi-purpose room from 10am until 4pm.  If you’re in the area, stop in to see my work as well as my fellow (very talented) artists!

I have hundreds of new earrings that are in the final stages of finishing.  Today I worked on glass star and snowflake ornaments because my stock is too low, but hoping I can finish more earrings because they are SO FUN TO WEAR and I know you’ll love them!

The following weekend I’ll be in Portland Oregon, Friday & Saturday December 7 & 8 at Multnomah Arts Center in the Gym with Left Coast Artists Collective.  A very cool group of artists, I’m thrilled to be juried into their show.  You can see images of all the artist’s work on their Facebook page.  Please check them out, like them & share their postcard with your friends if you’re so inclined!

Let me know you follow my blog and I just might have a little surprise for you!
